Regent College will start working with prospective learners during the year prior to coming to college. Prospective learners, their parents and/or carers, Connexions Advisers and other people who support them can come to visit the college. We can then ask them to come for tasters and pre-entry assessments. Learners will have an opportunity to ‘taste’ some of the curriculum options, and to have a basic skills assessment.
After these pre-entry assessments have been done, the learners and parents/carers will be sent a report which can be used for the application to the LSC for funding to attend the college.
AssessmentThe first term at Regent College is spent with learners on developing their baseline assessments. We use all of the information provided during transition to identify long term goals, interests and support needs. This information is then used to develop a range of assessments to identify abilities and learning needs across the main areas of the curriculum. At the end of the first term the learner will be given an individual learning plan which sets out targets with a planned destination and regular review dates.
